DESCRIPTION

Afterschool Jazz for Girls is an ensemble that introduces students to the jazz idiom and focuses on the basic elements of Swing, Ensemble Performance Practice, Musicianship, and beginning Improvisation. Students will learn about the female innovators of Jazz and their contributions to the development of Jazz. The ensemble performs at OPC’s Annual Winter and Spring concerts.

Requirements
Age 11 - 14 yrs;
Minimum one year of playing experience
Demonstrate ability to read music.
No audition is required. Instruments are available as needed.
