Afterschool Jazz for Girls

DESCRIPTION

Afterschool Jazz for Girls is an ensemble that introduces students to the jazz idiom and focuses on the basic elements of Swing, Ensemble Performance Practice, Musicianship, and beginning Improvisation. Students will learn about the female innovators of Jazz and their contributions to the development of Jazz.

Requirements: Age, 11 - 14 yrs; Minimum one year of playing experience and ability to read music. No audition required. Instruments are available as needed. 

Schedule: Tuesdays from 4:00pm - 6:00pm; September 10, 2024 - May 22, 2024
*OPC follows the OUSD calendar & will be closed on the same observed holidays*
