Our donors believe in and value the importance of music study in people’s lives. They want any person, especially children, to be able to study music if they so desire.
The benefits of music education have been broadly documented. There is evidence that simply listening to music can be life transforming. Studies show that students who study music do better in school, are more likely to stay in school and graduate, and tend to experience greater sense of belonging and connection with peers. Other studies reveal the health and cognitive benefits of music study for adults and seniors We have found this to be true at OPC. We feel pretty good about this and want to ensure that OPC is around well into the future.
